George William Elmore a 17 year old of 2538 Ellis boulevard NW was wounded in the neck when a .22 pistol carried in his inside breast pocket discharged at his home. He was taken by ambulance to St Luke's hospital at 12 45 pm Saturday for treatment with the bullet believed to have struck the spinal cord. Family said the pistol discharged as he leaned to pick up a toy balloon. Detective Bailey said the pistol had been cut down from a rifle and was single shot with bolt action. Elmore had fired a rifle at a target earlier and asked his father about another cartridge for the pistol which was in a jacket pocket.
