Pvt Thomas P Dixon of Waukon arrived at Fort Campbell Ky for rifleman duty after Schofield Barracks Hawaii. Airman Caroline M Reiss of Peosia stationed with the 443rd Civil Engineering Squadron Altus AFB Okla graduated from the entomology specialist course at Sheppard AFB Texas. Airman William B Frank of Iowa City and North Liberty will receive avionics instruction at Keesler AFB Miss after basic at Lackland AFB Texas. Airman Daniel J Byerly of Swisher will receive fuel specialist training at Chanute AFB Ill after Lackland basics. Airman Mark G Pohto of Monterrey Calif will receive voice processing instruction at Presidio Calif after Lackland basics. Army Sgt Christine M Artis of Manchester received the Good Conduct Medal at Nellingen West Germany. Capt Dallas H Ferneau of Montezuma received the Commendation Medal at Kirtland AFB New Mexico for outstanding achievement meritorious service.

Malpractice suit filed over arm injury in Dubuque
Former Loras College student Patrick Reardon files a $500000 malpractice suit in U S District Court Cedar Rapids against Dr. Anthony Piasecki for negligent treatment of a November 1978 broken arm. He says surgery in October 1979 was made more complex. Defendants include Medical Associates Clinic Inc. and Piasecki. Reardon seeks pain compensation permanent disability and $7300 medical expenses. The case was transferred from Indiana to the Northern District of Iowa.
