Linn County budget seeks 4.5 percent tax levy hike
Linn County residents weigh the proposed 83.18 million fiscal 2004 budget with a 0.5 percent overall decrease but a 4.5 percent rise in the property tax levy. The plan raises urban home taxes about two dollars annually and rural home taxes similarly, while commercial taxes increase 3.5 percent due to the loss of a state rollback. The hearing is 7 p.m. Monday in the Linn County Administrative Office Building board room.
