Congressional votes shape library grants and health care policy
House-backed bill HR 13 would provide at least 340 000 dollars per state in 2004 for local libraries and up to 35 million for museums with limits on obscene content. House members Holm, Latham, Boswell, Leach, Nussle, King and others supported the measure while Senators debated related issues on Social Security reform and nuclear arms control.
