Good news bad news for educators
Special to The Gazette reports a Cedar Rapids forecast by Dr. Rupert Evans of the University of Illinois. He predicts a 20 percent federal cut to vocational education but expects long term gains as Reagan shifts toward productivity and private funding rises. Evans warns of immigrant labor and a looming shortage of young white middle class workers, urging schools to prune weak programs and measure training value.
