Iowa State Alumni Fund reports receipts of 242000 for the 1956 campaign led by John Granson. The band burned cabins and killed children in multiple settlements before fleeing to South Dakota. Some historians tie the outbreak to trader Henry Lott and past animosities.

Father Menster To Speak Tuesday At Local High School

Father William J. Menster head of Catholic Charities for the Dubuque Archdiocese will address the public at 8 p.m. Tuesday March 12 in the high school auditorium. He will recount his Antarctic voyage as chaplain with Admiral Byrd and share pictures. The event is free. His Crossroads appearance on ABC tonight follows tonight’s program on KCRG.
