Staples sales fall as Office Depot merger looms
Staples reported an eighth straight quarterly sales drop blaming a strong dollar and weak demand for computers. The Cedar Rapids and Iowa City retailer is pursuing a $6.3 billion acquisition of Office Depot to boost earnings growth, with antitrust review underway. The company posted a 5.66 billion revenue and a 260.4 million net loss, while ex items earnings beat estimates.

Nissan expands Altima hood latch recall in North America
