Warm spell rattles Cedar Rapids with 40-degree day

Cedar Rapids residents enjoyed an unofficial taste of spring as The National Weather Service confirmed an official 40 degree high at The Eastern Iowa Airport on Saturday ending a 94 day stretch under 40 degrees. Even in Marion some wore shorts while snowmelt appeared and golfers eyed St. Andrews though only limited by lingering snow.

Nearly Naked Mile raises clothes for Salvation Army at UI

At the University of Iowa in Iowa City on Saturday the Nearly Naked Mile urged donations for the Salvation Army. More than 300 students registered for the run organized by S.T.A.T. with prizes for best costumes and top fundraisers.
