Vegetarian Diet Cuts Cholesterol By One Third Say Researchers
A Canadian team reports the Portfolio diet lowers LDL by about 45 percent and leaves HDL unchanged, matching statin performance in a preliminary study. The plan includes soy, soluble fiber, plant sterols, almonds, okra, eggplant, and Metamucil, tested on 25 volunteers.
