IPTV faces staff cuts amid funding shifts and growth plans
Over three years IPTV reduced staff by 31 to 117 and cut on air hours to 12 30 a.m. Yet the station retains a state wide mission with shows like Market to Market and Fans Porter's quilting while pursuing digital conversion to multicast multiple channels. Support from Friends of IPTV rose from 19 to 22 percent as state funding declined from 8.3 to 6.6 million dollars.

Asbestos Toll Prompts Senate Debate Over Trust Fund
The Environmental Working Group places asbestos deaths at about 10,000 annually, with Latent diseases like mesothelioma and asbestosis surfacing decades after exposure. Ken Cable, a longshoreworker with Workers Local 263, recalls daily dusty conditions and home exposure, noting lack of early compensation. The piece links old industry use to current health screenings and a Senate bill proposing a 114 billion trust fund for illness claims, amid criticism of adequacy and scope.
