Cleveland reports Alex Escobar will miss 2002 after tearing his ACL in left knee during a Bradenton spring workout. The 23-year-old prospect, centerpiece of the Alomar trade with the Mets, will undergo reconstructive surgery and hopes to return at 100 percent next year after signing for 2002.
