Grant aids Loess Hills preservation in Iowa effort
The Nature Conservancy, backed by a $350000 grant from the Goodhill Foundation of New York, will buy an 800 acre tract in western Iowa Loess Hills. Conservancy director Lawrence Cantera says $411250 will come from private sources to fund the purchase and a land management fund, with $61250 still needed. The Loess Hills are a rare landform found only in western Iowa and Kansu Province, China.
