Fourteen enter innocent pleas in Cedar Rapids court
Fourteen individuals entered innocent pleas Thursday at arraignments before U.S. Magistrate James Hodges in Cedar Rapids federal court. Deputy Eugene Parks is reassigned from patrol to radio dispatcher duties for an indefinite period for failing to obtain medical treatment for a prisoner injured during arrest on February 28. Gregory E. Jones, 20, arrested by state bureau of criminal investigation agents and Linn deputies on Highway 150 two miles north of Center Point. He was wanted for escaping from a Des Moines halfway house. Time of escape and custody details were not released. investigators followed him after spotting him driving on a gravel road.
