Mrs. Carl Schneider of Monticello was injured when her car went out of control on a slippery highway 1 1/2 miles from Monticello, veered into a ditch and rolled after a collision with a fence while a school bus approached. Her husband, a passenger, was unhurt.
Bids for a new police squad car will be received and opened at the regular April meeting of the Dyersville city council. The present car will be traded in on the new one.
Byron E. Bell of 300 Twenty Fourth Ave SW has been installed as president of Hawkeye Toastmasters. Other officers include George Coontz administrative vice president.

Forrest P. Hagan secretary of the Iowa committee on Masonic education will speak Friday noon at the YMCA men's Lenten luncheon. The program is the third in the series open to men of all denominations running from 12 to 1 PM.

Iowa district Judge L B Forsling announced he will resign after admitting his state income tax was unpaid for about five years. He cited embarrassment and said his wife managed finances and illness contributed to the oversight. The unpaid tax is about 450 dollars plus penalties, total around 700 to 800 dollars, to be paid promptly.
Three Iowa women will be honored as representative Republican campaigers at the Republican Women’s National Conference in Washington D C March 16 18 Mrs W E Willson Cedar Rapids Mrs Dick Touet t Osceola and Mrs Richard Adams Des Moines were named by national committeewoman Mrs Anna Lomas Red Oak They will be guests of the Republican National Committee at the conference.

Burglars broke into Sears Roebuck in Iowa City early Thursday and escaped with about $1,000 in cash five .22 rifles and ammunition. They entered via a second floor skylight, retrieved a new crowbar drills and blowtorch from the basement and demolished the safe door. They also punched a second safe without access.
