1949 Flight Prospects by Lou Breuer
Iowa airport operators eye 1949 flying season with cautious optimism. Survey shows two main views: private operators expect volume to be no better or poorer than 1948, while many believe survival possible with hard work. Training GI programs decline. spring may bring crop spraying, charter work, and renewed interest in non GI students. Aircraft sales likely to inch up but 6,000 light planes may sell in 1949. Operators plan to add planes to capture spraying market amid keen competition and possible resurgence of non GI training remains uncertain.
