Gonterman to plead guilty in Cedar Rapids stabbing case
A Cedar Rapids man known as Santa Claus will plead guilty to reduced charges in the June stabbing and shooting of his friend, Michael White. Gonterman faced attempted murder and other counts carrying up to 20 years, with the attempted murder count at 25 years. White was wounded on Swan Lake Road and treated at the University of Iowa Hospitals.

Tipton man pleads to robbery and willful injury
Deandre Handley 26 pleaded guilty in Tipton Iowa to second degree robbery and willful injury for the July 28 last year shooting during a robbery in which Jerson Wilkins was shot in the back of the head. Handley admitted to stealing jeans a cellphone shoes and 300 dollars and to driving the car used in the crime as police sought concealment. Sentencing is set for May 21 with prosecutors seeking consecutive 20 year terms and the defense asking for concurrent 10 years.
