High Court Vetoes Blanket NLRB Ban
The Supreme Court ruled 5 to 3 that the National Labor Relations Board lacks power under the Wagner Act to bar all possible violations when only specific violations are found. Involving the American Newspaper Guild and the San Antonio Express, the decision narrows the board's authority but keeps a partial win for the Guild. Justice Stone authored the ruling, which says an order must show resemblance or future risk to justify restraining additional violations.
