NewBo City Market grows as Cedar Rapids incubator
The NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids opened in October 2012 after a 6 million capital effort. It hosts 17 permanent merchants plus guest vendors in an 18,000 square foot former Quality Chef Foods site. In its first year and a half it drew more than 230000 visitors and 2.5 million dollars in sales with 250 guest vendors. The market plans workshops with Kirkwood Community College and expands hours to open Thursdays through Sundays.
