Two vie for Johnson County Supervisors seat in special election
In Iowa City two former candidates seek the Johnson County Board of Supervisors seat left by Sally Stutsman. Republican John Etheredge and Democrat Terry Dahms dispute jail and courthouse costs and a scaled back criminal justice center. They also differ on a proposed 91 acre housing development near Newport Road with Etheredge opposing density and Dahms supporting it. The winner will complete Stutsman’s term through 2014 amid rural representation questions and a $65 000 to $70 000 election cost.
