Cattle receipts 4,500 with calves 1,200 and steers mixed, top cattle price 12.75. vealers weak to 25 cents lower. Sheep receipts 15,000 with fat lambs 25 cents lower, top around 8.90 and bulk 8.75 to 8.90.
Receipts listed show light hogs active with declines 10 to 20 cents for heavier weights and drops around 15 to 20 cents for many. prices hover near $8 for 180-210 lb hogs and $7.80-$10.60 for various weights. Cattle steady to slightly tender with steadying killing classes and feeders. beef cows $5.75 to $6.75, vealers up to $10.00. Sheep slow with fat lamb bids down about 25 cents. woolly sheep and slaughter hogs mixed with weaker early bids and held stock.
Sioux City report shows cattle receipts around 2000 head with steers and yearlings largely steady, primes at 13.00, cows 4.50 to 7.50, and stockers scarce. Born August 10 1870 in Sweden he came to the United States in 1893 and lived in Cedar Rapids the last 45 years. Funeral services will be held at Turner chapel Saturday at 2 pm with burial in Linwood cemetery. He is survived by a sister in Cedar Rapids and three brothers in Sweden.
