Cedar Rapids to add 620000 to Streets Department budget

Cedar Rapids proposes a 254 million fiscal 2001 budget with more than 620000 added to the Streets Department. A public hearing and 12 budget hearings are scheduled. City Auditor Bob McMahan will present. The plan reduces capital improvements by 9.4 million from 42.0 to 33.0 million and raises the tax rate 34 cents per thousand.
