Worth Christie founder of the All America Professional Basketball League says he pulled operations from Cedar Rapids before the season begins. He still aims to field 10 teams for the league’s first season starting November 11, and hints at a potential Cedar Rapids return next year.
Iowa will remove a first batch of about 800 offenders from its Sex Offender Registry ahead of the ten year anniversary. The reviews examined criminal and incarceration histories and most offenders had completed the ten year term without further violations. Officials estimate up to half of the 2,000 reviewed may be removed in coming months.
U.S. Census figures indicate midsize Florida Arizona Nevada and California cities gain residents from 2000 to 2004 while San Francisco and Boston lose the most people. Warm weather and affordable housing drive the trend.
