Ladder saves Cedar Rapids boy from sewer death
Steve Schmitz an 11 year old from Cedar Rapids was swept into a rain swollen culvert near Iowa City and dragged about 30 yards before a manhole ladder kept him from being washed into the Iowa River. Rescuers heard his cries and he was treated and released for bumps and scratches.

Levy figures will be presented to the Board of Supervisors and tax bills mailed mid August with first payments due September 1, 1981 and a 1 percent monthly penalty starting October 1.

Drifter Guilty in Nabbing of 5 Year Old Timmy White
