IBP repays 4 million state loan in Iowa

IBP Inc repaid a 4 million dollar loan from Iowa state granted in 1985 to open its Columbus Junction park plant. The company announced the repayment during an open house at the Louisa County plant, with about 5 000 people expected to tour the operation.

Diagonal Drive Opens Linking I-380 to Cedar River Bridge

The $1.6 million Diagonal Drive project connects the Fifth Sixth Avenue interchange of I-380 with Eighth Avenue SE at the Cedar River bridge. City officials plan a 10 a.m. ribbon cutting and traffic will begin. The project was approved in 1984 and required acquisition of 26 residences and four businesses.
