All-Iowa fair opens with women’s exhibit area added
Hawkeye Downs hosts the thirty-fourth All-Iowa fair with 149 competition classes up 14 from last year. A new women’s area features a Bonanza ranch house and a pioneer Redwood log house. Cash prizes go to top three in each class and a Best of Fair plaque will honor the overall standout entry. Today highlights include a floral arrangement demo at 1:15 p.m. at the Farm Youth Center, Oktoberfest Players at 2 p.m., and Bobby Vinton and the Sandpipers performing at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
