Three Ross children Becky Jo 9 John 5 and William 12 were found safe in Vista California with their grandparents after being reported missing Tuesday. Detectives traced the lead to an anonymous call and are pursuing the case to identify who placed the children on the flight to Los Angeles.
Ronald Kohl of Vernon route 1 pled guilty before Judge Charles Penningroth to cashing a false twenty dollar check at Jack's Store on May 5. He received a suspended six month jail term.
Kraft Construction Co of West Union reports theft of plywood forms valued at 500 dollars from a site one half mile south of the highway 13 junction east of Marion, to Linn county sheriff.
Ruth Berry Pump Co of Iowa sues John Bohdan for 1455.56 and Family Finance Corp of Iowa sues Robert Wolverton for 327.20 both on promissory notes seeking recovery of the stated amounts.
Frances Syrovy died June 15 1960 and named Jerry J Syrovy as executor with her children as heirs per the admitted will.
In Mountain Home Arkansas a 5 year old boy named Travis Quarles drowned minutes after his mother Mrs. Raymond Quarles of Lovington New Mexico had photographed him during his first swim on vacation. He slipped from an innertube into eight feet of water and a diver recovered his body about an hour later.
Premier Koirala said a Nepali border patrol officer was killed and 15 Nepalis captured by Red Chinese forces on the Tibetan border near Mustang. Nepal filed a protest with Peiping over a disputed 500 mile border while Nehru pledged India would view any Nepal aggression as aggression against India.
Rockefeller challenged Nixon to speak out on issues after a Gates suggested briefing. He said he relayed the challenge to President Eisenhower before issuing it, and the President’s response was not entirely negative. Massachusetts Governor Furcolo urged the Democratic nominee to name Rockefeller as defense secretary to show national unity.
Rockefeller criticized a proposed health insurance subsidy for Americans over 65 as fiscally unsound and urged passage of a bill funded by social security payroll taxes. He rejected a means test and proposed a health benefit trust funded by a 14 percent payroll tax increase for workers and employers.

She was a Trinity Methodist member and will be buried at Cedar Memorial after Friday 1 30 p.m. services at Turner chapel conducted by Rev Warren L Feller. Friends may call at the chapel.
Glenn Barr 65 of 1121 Eighteenth Ave SW Cedar Rapids died Wednesday in a nursing home. Born near Maquoketa January 1 1895 he was survived by two daughters Mrs Lloyd Rischer and Mrs Albert Dale a son Glenn a sister Leona Vanda a brother William and seven grandchildren all of Cedar Rapids. Services 1 30 Friday Beatty Bearle's with Pastor E W Koberg Trinity Lutheran Church Burial Oak Hill Friends may call after 7 p m Wednesday.

He said the world would be disappointed if the conference cannot proceed due to Soviet unwillingness and challenged the Soviet bloc’s right to end the talks unilaterally under UN auspices.
Joseph Tally age 39 of Fayetteville North Carolina was installed as president of Kiwanis International in Miami Beach. He succeeds Albert Tully of Mobile Alabama. Both are lawyers and shared duties last year as North Carolina president elect noting the names differ by a single letter.
A fast moving storm struck Ottumwa and central Iowa causing downed power lines and trees up to five feet in diameter. Hail measured up to three inches in Ames and Boone as the system moved eastward with flood like rain and widespread outages.

Carmelite Marcotte died at age 90 in Pawtucket Rhode Island on Tuesday. She was survived by 10 children 62 grandchildren and 81 great grandchildren.
Associated Press reports storms caused a death in Illinois and injuries across Minnesota Missouri Kentucky. Winds up to 80 mph toppled trees in Quincy Illinois cutting power and phone service. hail damaged windows in Rockford. A resident Edna Gause died when her building collapsed in Quincy.
France announced on Wednesday that preliminary discussions with Algerian rebel representatives have ended and the rebel delegation will return soon to Tunis. The communique gave no clear indication of whether cease fire negotiations were achieved.
C. J. Stephens of Des Moines won Senate Agriculture Committee approval for the post of general counsel at the U S Department of Agriculture. At 67 he succeeds former Sen. Frank Barrett who left to return to Wyoming. Stephens previously led Iowa’s farm administrative board and served as assistant attorney general of Iowa.
