Kalona Eyes Bids for New Public Library
Kalona moves to a special session midweek to approve bids for the new public library furnishings and equipment totaling 115 307 dollars. No bids came in for signage prompting an architect recommendation while fire alarm bid clarifications and council decisions on alternates including copper front steel trellis restrooms and other items loom. The project faces a potential overrun as alternates could consume the 50 000 dollar contingency within a 1 4 million bond and leave no room for changes.
