Juvenile Runaways Highlight Cedar Rapids PMIC Disparity
More than 100 youths fled Cedar Rapids treatment centers in the past year. JANKOWSKI, a 15 year old, drowned in the Cedar River after leaving Tanager Place in May, in an incident ruled an accident. Tanager reports higher runaway counts than Four Oaks and other facilities, prompting disputes over record-keeping while Iowa protections probe PMIC practices.
