Daniel Zimmerman a ULC bishop and Dean Miller of Cedar Rapids were found guilty of conspiring to impede IRS collection and of assisting others to file false charitable deduction returns. Prosecutors argued the scheme shows a church based tax dodge. Sentencing set for August 8. both face felonies with possible prison terms.

Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica’s July 9 performance at the Five Seasons Center in Cedar Rapids has been canceled due to illness. The center’s general manager David Pisha said Osbourne will reschedule West Coast concerts first and hopes to reschedule Cedar Rapids later. Ticket refunds are available at the box office.
