Field Day at Dubuque Arboretum and Gardens Opens Free
Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens hosts a free field day from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at 2131 32nd St. The event features Brass Ring, balloon and skydiving demos, horseshoes and volleyball tournaments, free train rides, and a fundraising auction with items like an antique roll top desk and Spirit of Dubuque cruise tickets. Food and drinks will be sold. The 16.5 acre arboretum sits on part of a 55-acre estate donated in 1977 by Jackson Marshall to preserve the trees and shrubs for park use. Open daily 8 a.m. to dusk with no charge.
