Linn County Law Library funding extended six months
The Linn County Board of Supervisors will extend support for the Third Avenue Law Library for six more months. Deputy Clerk Mary Roseberry reported funds would not run out until six months from mid June, delaying earlier July 1 concerns. The committee, chaired by Judge Robert Osmundson, includes officials from the Clerk of Court, County Attorney, Board of Supervisors, and the Bar Association.

Dawes Innocent of Rioting at Clinton Strike
Reverend Gilbert Dawes, pastor of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Camanche, was found not guilty of rioting and resisting arrest after a Clinton strike protest. A Scott County jury deliberated five hours, as Dawes faced charges from an April 10 demonstration against Clinton Corn Processing Co.
