Wickham Fund Grants First Educational Award

Frank Merritt 77 Dies in Springville After Lingering Illness

Frank Merritt 77 lifelong Springville resident and retired farmer died Saturday after a lingering illness. Born February 18 1877 in Linn county he married Alverda Mitchell January 15 1907 in Iowa county. Survived by wife ten children Roy Fred Mrs Paul Mitchell Lee Ed Myron Earl and a brother Thomas and 27 grandchildren. Services Monday at 3 p m at Hunte funeral home with burial in Springville cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Marquette Bridge Toll Free Celebration Planned

Plans for a July 17 and 18 tri city event to mark the Marquette Prairie du Chien suspension bridge becoming toll free.
