Bear at Duluth Zoo Gets Biggest Dental Crown Yet
An Alaska brown bear named Tundra at Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth Minnesota received a titanium alloy dental crown in a one of a kind procedure. The 800 pound bear underwent a sedation guided hourlong operation by Dr Grace Brown and was monitored by armed staff in case of a wakeful reaction. The crown, created from a wax model and produced by Creature Crowns Idaho, is cited as the largest dental crown ever made and Brown plans to publish findings in the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry.
