Two Die as Car Hits Semi on Highway 30 Near Van Horne
An Iowa crash on Highway 30 near Benton's Van Horne left Jeremie Mvemba 21 and Michou Mayola 39 dead. Guetty Otshumbe 18 and Jean Claude Shako 45 were airlifted as others injured. The truck driver Paul Jarrett 71 was taken to St Luke's. investigation ongoing. A separate Cedar Rapids incident saw a 14 year old arrested for waving a stolen handgun near 14th Street and Fifth Avenue SE after officers caught him fleeing. The weapon had been reported stolen June 13.
