Gas mix tested as vehicle to move energy
Sandia National Laboratory researchers in Albuquerque test thermochemical energy transport by heating a carbon dioxide and methane mix with aluminum oxide rhodium catalysts to create a transportable energy rich gas. The process uses room temperature shipment and high temperature release to generate steam or power. The cycle converts CO and hydrogen back to CO2 and methane, with reactions raising temperatures up to 1200 degrees.
