Barn Fire Destroys Hay and Straw Bales Near Waukon
A Thursday night fire on the Duane Leppert farm eight miles northeast of Waukon leveled a 50 by 100 foot barn. The Waukon Fire Department fought the blaze at about 7 30 p.m. No animals were inside the barn but 1000 bales of hay and 500 bales of straw were destroyed. Nearby structures were undamaged. Cause is under investigation.
