Iowa to send officers to Texas border aid deployment
Reynolds announces Iowa will join Florida Nebraska and Idaho in sending roughly 25 to 30 sworn Iowa State Patrol members to Texas for about two weeks to support border operations under the interstate mutual aid agreement. The move coincides with a border surge and fentanyl seizures while local advocates criticize the deployment as a misallocation of resources.
