Dry spell, storms. Iowa crops mostly recover despite damage
A dry spell before recent storms left only minor impact on crops in Iowa. Martin and son replanted 80 acres of soybeans after poor germination, while ISU estimates hail damaged about 5,000 acres of corn and soybeans near Alburnett. Despite stress, 78 percent of corn and 74 percent of beans are rated good or excellent.
