A home yeast bread recipe uses oatmeal boiled then cooled, dissolved yeast with lukewarm water, butter salt and honey, optional sage marjoram and caraway. Flour is added gradually, kneaded until soft, allowed to rise, punched down shaped into two loaves and baked at 325 for about 50 minutes until hollow-sounding.
Overnight Cabbage Salad Recipe
Combine cabbage onion green pepper celery and carrots in a bowl. Simmer vinegar water sugar salt turmeric celery seed and mustard seed, then pour over vegetables and mix. Refrigerate overnight or until ready to serve. Keeps for several days. Serves 6-8.
Zucchini Dressing Casserole
Parboil zucchini if desired then slice and mix with pimientos onion carrots croutons chicken soup and sour cream. Layer with croutons and butter starting and ending with croutons. Bake 375 for 30 minutes or 350 in glass dish. Serves six.

A basic steak marinade mixes Worcestershire sauce brown sugar onion powder salt garlic powder lemon juice and a 3 lb steak cut into pieces. Marinate 4 to 6 hours then grill 10 to 15 minutes turning and brushing with marinade as it cooks.
