Container plants a why grow tomatoes in containers is a good idea
Growing tomatoes in containers reduces soilborne disease risk and speeds maturation as soil warms. Choose container size by variety. small pots for pioneers like Micro Tom, midsized for cherry and dwarf types, large pots for beefsteaks. Hang baskets suit cherry and dwarf types. larger tomatoes need sturdier containment. Use potting mix, mulch, staking, and regular fertilization and watering.
