Daylilies Shine as Perennial Beat for Gardens

Dinah Washington praises perennials while daylilies captivate millions with color and long bloom. Jackie Strother of Grey Goose Antiques & Flowers in Martelle touts 150 varieties and a summer peak during the Fourth of July, with Stella de Oro and Revolution among favorites. Nelson of Dianne's Gartner City offers almost 250 varieties and Walnut Hill Gardens near Atalissa holds over 3,500 northern hardy daylilies, the largest US collection. The American Hemerocallis Society promotes daylilies as the perfect perennial and provides care tips and a garden network.
