Milking Shorthorn Show Slated July 3

Wool Referendum Slated for September
Washington UPI reports T Benson announced a month long referendum in September to decide if wool and lamb producers want to renew their agreement with the American Sheep Producers Council. If approved the contract would be extended for three more years funded by deductions from federal wool incentive payments for council advertising and market development.

Reid to supervise county extension staffs in Iowa region
A 1940 agriculture degree holder from West Virginia University joined Iowa’s Cooperative Extension Service in 1948 as Monroe county director. He later led Clayton county and served a year with the Iowa Production and Marketing Administration. In 1954 he returned to extend service in Van Buren county as supervisor of county staffs. He will undergo training and study at Iowa State College before supervising a district of 16 to 17 counties.

Farm Youth Tour Plans Are Told Des Moines Iowa
