Weekend crashes across Iowa killed at least four people including 19 year old Phillip Bockhaus in a Dubuque county head on collision on highway 20 near Dubuque, 17 year old Debbie Smith in a Bettendorf area crash near Har lan, 74 year old Hans Jessen in Clinton struck by a car, and 6 year old Todd Hall trapped at a Sloan service station. A 15 year old Lonnie Oliver drowned at Crystal Lake near DeWitt during a church youth outing.

Parents Gone Hold Up Ends Peacefully At Farm House
Woodbury county authorities held Anthon man Dennis Moore 20, a medic on leave, after he seized five people at gunpoint at his parents farm home near Anthon Saturday night. The hostages, including two Hyers and two Albers plus a six year old, were released unharmed after Moore surrendered to deputies and highway patrols who surrounded the scene.
