Your Money's Worth Take Advantage Now Of Interest Rates
Sylvia Porter analyzes peak interest rates and advises borrowers to act fast with short maturities if needed, or wait for rate relief as 1968 ends and 1969 begins. Savers should lock in high returns on long certificates while investors consider high grade bonds and tax exempt options. The piece notes tax changes may ease credit and curb spending, shaping future rates.

FTC Again Studies Cigaret Brands
The FTC reports new tests ranking 68 brands by tar and nicotine, with Marvels lowest for tar and nicotine. Earlier results covered 59 brands. Kingsize nonfilter Chesterfields had highest tar in the prior group, while Herbert Tareytons topped in the latest figures. Samples were bought nationwide and each brand was tested with ten cigarettes puffed to specified butt or filter lengths. The study followed a request from Senator Warren G. Magnuson to the Senate Commerce Committee.
