The board of directors will shrink from 23 to 10. The effort aims to be more responsive to contributors, alongside the Dairy Industry Commission and auxiliary fund schemes that collected over 590 thousand dollars last year.

Farm Act Extension Seems Unlikely This Year
Senate agriculture hearings on the Ellender bill would extend the 1965 farm act for four years and add Title II marketing orders for many commodities. Exemptions would apply to cotton soybeans tobacco forest products and all grains except flaxseed. Cattle groups seek added exemptions. House panel previously favored one year extension but Rules Committee opposition blocks floor vote.
