Cedar Rapids Hard of Hearing Society meets Thursday at 6 p.m. for a picnic at Bever Park pavilion. Attendees are asked to bring a covered dish and table service. Coffee will be served. Friends invited.
The marriage of Miss Barbara Trimble and Donald C Boesenberg is announced by her parents in Marion. The ceremony will be July 26 at the Marion church. Mr and Mrs Marvin Hanwardsen host Mrs Mina Sears and her granddaughter Nancy Serr of Spring Valley California as guests.
Bonnie Jean Marie O’Neill wed Stanley Otto Cejka Jr at St. Patrick’s church in a Saturday service read by Rev. William Patrick Divine. The couple plans a two week wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and will reside in Iowa City after July 5 as he begins dental studies and she plans to teach in Solon.
Kathleen Joyce Carroll daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Carroll and Leon ard Doyle Monaghan son of Mr and Mrs Barney Monaghan were married Saturday at 8 am in St Patrick's. The bride wore Chantilly lace and satin with a long train and carried a white orchid arrangement. The reception was at the Montrose hotel and the couple plan to reside at 8070 Avenue NW after July 5.
Ines Cooke prepares a simple ham bake using a thick uncooked ham slice. She coats it with brown sugar, adds pineapple juice around, and bakes uncovered at 325 degrees for 1¼ to 2 hours, spooning juices over the ham occasionally. Serves 6 to 8.
To Observe Fiftieth Anniversary IPTON Mr and Mrs Carl H Mather will observe their golden wedding anniversary Tuesday by receiving friends in their rose garden from 3 30 to 5 30 p m Married in 1903 they lived in Clarence until 1908 when they moved here Mr Mather a lawyer took his bachelor s degree from Penn college Oskaloosa and was educated at the University of Iowa college of law in 1903 Mrs Mather is a former school teacher She was employed at the post office in Springdale prior to her marriage The Mathers have two daughters Mrs Maurine M August ine of Cedar Rapids and Mrs Bethany M Schuster of Riversid e Conn They and their families plan to join the Mathers for the occasion Tuesday
The Manchester Girl Scout council elected officers led by President Mrs. C J Gorious and first vice president Mrs Millard Allen. Second vice president is Mrs George Hutchison and Treasurer Mrs Leslie Gibbs. Secretary is Mrs Edward Feild. Mrs Clarence Klaus becomes Brownie Day Camp director.
