Columbia ready for flight No. 4 test mission
The space shuttle Columbia is set for its fourth and final test flight from Cape Canaveral next Sunday with a 112 orbit schedule. Commander Mattingly and pilot Hartsfield will land in California on July Fourth under expected public interest and Reagan’s presence. The mission includes Air Force and McDonnell Douglas Ortho payloads, a Getaway Special program with Utah students, and experiments by high schoolers, plus a secret DOD payload CIRRIS to study infrared radiation.
