Rough Cut diamond caper stars Reynolds and Dawn
A polished heist romance starring Burt Reynolds and Lesley Ann Down with David Niven as a retiring inspector. The film follows an American playboy drawn into a £30 million diamond shipment scheme across Europe, amid twists and romantic rivalries. The plot is clever but the long running time sags in places.

Brenda Starr film may cast Lesley-Anne Down in lead
Lucie Arnaz has the Brenda Starr script while Irwin Meyer and Steve Freeman also consider Lesley-Anne Down and other bright young actresses. A Bo Derek Warner Bros. plan fell through as they firm up a $12 million production with International Film Investors and Ernest Lehmann writing, aiming to start in January with a Bond style storyline and global locations.
