Bridge Suit Plea Lodged With High Court
Two Ladora couples have appealed to the Iowa Supreme Court challenging the county board of supervisors over the Ladora bridge with notices filed in district court. The May 11 ruling by District Judge John L Hyland said the Smiths and Brickers suffered no specific damages from the bridge collapse last Sept 28, affecting access to their farms near Bear Creek and south of the bridge. A related case seeks to halt road closings north of Highway 6 and pending a merits hearing before District Judge Tarold Victor.
