War Story Proves Stars Can't Make Propaganda a Hit
A State theater review faulted Keep Your Powder Dry for relying on Lana Turner Laraine Day and Susan Peters for propaganda. It suggests star power cannot save a story that centers on WAC themes with weak character dynamics and contrived plot points. The film follows Lana a cafe society gal joining the Wac to win funds while conflicts with Laraine unfold amid Fort Des Moines and officer training.
